What is the difference between HDPE and LDPE bags?
HDPE (high-density polyethylene) is stiffer and stronger for its thickness, with a crisp, crinkly feel and a translucent look. LDPE is softer, more flexible and clearer. HDPE suits uses where strength at a low thickness matters; LDPE suits uses where flexibility and clarity matter.
Which is stronger, HDPE or LDPE?
At the same thickness, HDPE has higher tensile strength and stiffness, while LDPE stretches further before it tears. Which performs better depends on the load and how the bag is handled.
